December 2, 2025 | Virtual CLE course: Chained and Silenced: The Reality of Forced and Child Marriage in the U.S.
Forced marriage and child marriage are recognized globally as human rights abuses and forms of modern slavery – yet they remain legal in most of the United States. Our virtual CLE course with Rutgers Law School examined the laws that enable and even encourage forced and child marriage; how those laws intersect with cultural and religious norms; the profound human suffering these abuses cause; and the vital role family lawyers can play to achieve justice.
November 12, 2025 | Golden State’s Child Marriage Problem

But, as we discussed with Chelsea Clinton at University of California, Los Angeles’ Hammer Museum, here’s a reason to be encouraged: Together we can ban child marriage in California. If you missed the event, or want to rewatch the conversation between Chelsea and our Fraidy Reiss — co-hosted by Clinton Global Initiative, Equality Now and The Promise Institute for Human Rights at UCLA and moderated by Equality Now’s Anastasia Law — you can access it here.
