Unchained At Last envisions a world where every woman is free to choose whether, when and whom to marry – and whether to leave a marriage.
In two years, with an almost all-volunteer staff, Unchained has helped or is helping more than 70 women to leave their arranged/forced marriages and rebuild their lives.
Unchained also has introduced legislation in New Jersey and been featured in media outlets ranging from the Huffington Post to NBC-TV.
Support Our Legislation to Protect Women
Unchained’s first piece of legislation has been introduced in the New Jersey legislature as S1524/A1676.
Latest news: Unchained testified February 24 before the Assembly Judiciary Committee, which voted in favor of the bill.
Unchained is looking for volunteer career counselors to help women who are leaving arranged/forced marriages to develop a career plan, write a resume, and identify and apply for jobs. To apply, send your CV and cover letter (explaining why you want to volunteer) to email@example.com.
