We broke our own record this year, thanks to your support: We helped to ban child marriage in three U.S. states (Maine, Oregon and Missouri) and one district (Washington, D.C.), the most legislative victories we have ever achieved in one year. And, in our spare time, we helped to defeat a bill that would have brought back child marriage in another state (New Hampshire, obviously).
All told, together we have banned this human rights abuse in 16 states, two territories and one district — or one-third of the country (!) — over the past seven years.
And together, we can get the other two-thirds to eliminate an archaic harmful practice that destroys girls’ lives. Let’s see how much we can raise in the last 50 days of the year to help ban child marriage in all 50 states.
