Jamie Allen Black

headshot of Jamie Allen BlackJamie Allen Black is a fierce advocate for gender justice and an expert leader in social innovation. She most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of Elluminate (formerly the Jewish Women’s Foundation of New York). Jamie shepherded the organization into a new way of being – supporting Jewish women social entrepreneurs using an intersectional gender lens and Jewish values to ground their work in solving intractable problems around the globe. Her commitment to giving voice to women is the reason Jamie chose to join the Board of Unchained. Jamie embodies 30 years of experience leading in the nonprofit arena. This history centers around promoting inclusive and diverse Jewish communities and mentoring both professionals and volunteers. Jamie’s passion is modeling and coaching leadership through authenticity. In 2017, Jamie co-founded The Good People Fund and Ta’amod: Stand Up! – a Jewish communal response for the need to create safe and respectful workplaces. Jamie is a graduate of New York University and was honored with the Dean’s Alumni Award for Humanitarianism in 2010. She sings in the Community Choir at Central Synagogue and has a not-so-secret life as a voice actor.
