ABOUT UNCHAINED
Tens of thousands of women in the US are in arranged or forced marriages — and those who want to get divorced often are shunned by their family and friends, have no money and have little understanding of the American legal system. Unchained is the first organization in the US dedicated to helping those women, by providing them with pro bono divorce attorneys, social services and mentoring. Unchained also raises awareness about arranged/forced marriage in the US and pushes for changes to relevant laws to protect women.
Unchained, based in Westfield, New Jersey, was founded in 2011 and is growing rapidly. Its Social Services Program is active in New York and New Jersey, with plans to expand to other states.
HOW TO APPLY
To be considered for this position, send your resume and a cover letter, in which you explain why you want to serve as Unchained’s Social Worker, to susan@unchainedatlast.org.
